Along with millions of other Stereo Lovers around the world, I became a fan of B&O in 1972 when they introduced the first-ever Electronically Controlled Tangential Tracking System in the BG 4000.
In 1981, B&O reached its pinnacle of electronic prowess with the BG 8000 series. The BG 8002 replaced the BG 8000 in 1982 and was B&O's most prestigious Turntable, introducing the new MMC1-5 Series Cartridges. The BG 8002 came from the factory with an MMC2 Cartridge. The MMC1 came along shortly thereafter as an upgrade.
This was B&Os finest Turntable ever, and the most sophisticated Turntable ever offered to the public. To this day, the BG 8000 with an MMC20CL Cartridge and the BG 8002 with an MMC1 or MMC2 Cartridge, are both World Class, high-end performers, with a Laser bored Sapphire Cantilever and Contact line Diamond, tracking at an incredibly low tracking force of 1 gram. For those reasons and many more, the 8000 series are my favorite and my specialty.
I have been focused exclusively on B&O Tangential Trackers for eleven years now. As planned, I have come to know and understand the complexities of these electronic MUSICAL ROBOTS, and the ingenious Electronic Circuitry that allows them to perform their amazing Mechanical abilities.
As one of my Customers, you will be privy to free Tech Support and access to the largest inventory of B&O Tangential Tracker parts in the world. And fast, low-cost repair service by a 'B&O Specific' Technician for any imaginable future problem.
If you already own an 8000 series Deck and can't bear to part with it, send it to me for refurbishing or complete Restoration if you choose. Your input is welcome and this will be a fun and rewarding experience. If you don't have the original box and packing materials, let me know and I will send you a shipping label and my own custom packing and boxes, along with easy to follow illustrations to ensure damage-free Transit.
I have identified all of the quirks and weak points that tend to fail over the years and a lot of thought and attention has been given to those particular areas. You will never again have to suffer the aggravation of having your expensive, high-end Turntable completely sidelined due to the failure of a small plastic part or a broken nylon bushing.
I purchase these Treasures from Audiophiles and B&O Enthusiasts all around the globe. Some are pampered, well cared for machines, many of which have been in storage for 20+ years. These are the Candidates for my Restorations. Others have been poorly maintained, damaged in shipping, broken Tonearms, PCBs and other Electronics destroyed by DIY ETs, etc. Those are my boneyard machines.
All of my Beograms, whether refurbished or totally restored, go through the same exact ELECTRONICS, MECHANICAL, and AESTHETICS Restoration process. When finished, they are better than new in all three categories. Electronic upgrades include all Capacitors, 31 total, including the Microcomputer, coupled with a comprehensive inspection and reflow of the entire PCB.
My 'MINT+' ('Museum Quality') Restorations' are aesthetically flawless, and rated 10/10. They are created specifically for the most discerning B&O Enthusiast who holds a place in his heart and on the shelf for a rare special Jewel and can afford it.
My 'NQM' Restorations are just Not Quite Mint. The brushed aluminum surfaces are the only areas that cannot be refinished to "good as new" condition. Even a single 'pinpoint' defect will disqualify a Turntable from the designation of 'MINT+' condition. These imperfections can only be seen under close inspection with high lighting conditions, inside of 24" away, and/or at a certain angle. If absolute perfection isn't of the utmost importance to you, you will be just as happy with one of my 'NQM' rated Decks and save Hundreds.
ALL TURNTABLES CARRY A NO-FAULT, NO HASSLE, ONE YEAR UNCONDITIONAL WARRANTY, parts & labor.
